Bexley Storm Sewer Improvements

Bexley, Ohio

The City of Bexley had experienced significant structural flooding during short, strong rain events. EMH&T assisted the City in obtaining Ohio Public Works Commission grants and loans to correct this problem through Bexley’s central business district. EMH&T then designed rehabilitations and improvements to the aging storm sewer serving the City of Bexley, preparing plans to construct a 66-inch trunk sewer of 2,640 linear feet. The storm sewer was installed through the middle of Main Street, due to utility and right-of-way constraints. This project involved a unique hydraulic structure, providing the City with the ability to modify the direction of the flow after installation to obtain optimum stormwater conveyance. In addition, EMH&T added a water transmission line to the system to boost pressures through the City’s central business district. Our team of experienced engineers were able to complete the project on-time and within budget.
