CIVIL ENGINEERING CAD TECHNICIAN – PUBLIC WORKS

Summary

EMH&T is currently seeking a CAD Technician to join our Public Works team. The Technician works under the mentorship of a seasoned Engineer or Designer to create technical drawings and plans for roadway and utility projects for private and public clients. In addition, this person works with a civil engineering team to understand the requirements of initial designs and turns them into accurate and detailed engineered construction plans.

You will draft technical engineering design components (e.g. plans, profiles, exhibits, etc); perform plan production tasks, including base mapping, modeling, and detailing; create drawings utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or ArcMap; assist with preliminary and completed layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings from technical notes, sketches, and/or other drawings, ensuring they meet our company and industry standards and codes; work with redlined corrections, mark-up, or setup construction plan drawings and exhibits; and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s degree or some specialized training or experience with one or more CAD platforms such as AutoCAD. Knowledge of basic math (geometry) involved in the production and use of drawings or models. 0-4 years of drafting activities.
