EMH&T Helps City of Northwood Develop Mixed-Use Enclave Development
Working with the City of Northwood, Ohio, EMH&T’s Planning and Landscape Architecture Division has developed a master plan for the 133-acre site of the former Woodville Mall that includes single-family, patio home, and multi-family residential. Also included is a senior housing facility, 4 out lots, a community center, and 30 acres of mixed use commercial. On-site amenities incorporated into the master plan include a 3-acre central park, 31 acres of open space consisting of buffers, stormwater management, entry features, and 1.5 mile loop path.
EMH&T also prepared construction documents for the project’s first phase, Enclave Main Street – a great street consisting of landscape medians, decorative crosswalks, street furnishings and irrigation. The team also designed a signature entry feature consisting of a bridge like feature with decorative walls, railings, and signage.
To better communicate the plan to the public, EMH&T’s Visualization Group prepared a colored master plan rendering of the project, which was used as part of the groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, May 14th. The contract for this initial phase of the project was awarded in April with construction planned to begin in June.
