Whitehall Community Park

Whitehall Community Park has a naturalized environment with open space amenities that complement the Big Walnut Creek corridor and trail system, connecting the Whitehall community with local natural resources. The project included a stream restoration allowing for Big Walnut Creek access with a launching ramp for canoes and kayaks, fishing pier, network of walking and nature trails, playground, disc golf course, natural amphitheater, and 6-acre flower meadow.

A carefully orchestrated public involvement process and master planning effort was the initial turning point for the project, where the City and the planning team were able to create a long-term vision compatible with the needs of the community. The planning effort created guide posts without constraining the eventual design and engineering of the project, while also supporting the pursuit of grant funding for the project.
