CIVIL ENGINEER
EMH&T has an opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our Industrial & Logistics site design team located in Columbus, OH.
Our entry level Civil Engineer (EIs) work under the guidance of experienced Engineers and Project Managers who provide mentorship and support throughout your career development. Additionally, EMH&T offers a dedicated support team to train you on our drafting and design standards, ensuring you are well-prepared for success in this role.
The Industrial & Logistics team supports rail clients, trucking facilities, pump stations, lumber yards, car dealerships, medical campuses, single-family home projects and more.
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering knowledge to practical design challenges.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Work independently after receiving appropriate guidance.
- Develop plan drawings and calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads for projects such as sanitary systems, stormwater management, roadway design, and rail and road crossings.
- Produce base maps for plan development, generate 3D surface models, corridors, profiles, and cross-sections, as well as perform drafting tasks.
- Familiarize with and adhere to EMH&T drafting and design standards.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines with flexibility, adapting quickly to schedule and deadline changes.
- Collaborate effectively with team members in a supportive, cooperative environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, required.
Work experience, including internships or co-op experiences in civil, construction, or a related area and exposure to engineering consulting firm environment, preferred.
